Our Story: A Legacy of Excellence

Charlotte Court is a **42-room hostel** situated on the hills of Berekuso Township, an ideal location just **0.5km** (about an **8-minute walk**) from the Ashesi University campus. We are the perfect accommodation choice for **Ashesi University students**.

Established in **2013** with 16 rooms, we expanded to 42 rooms in 2016 with approximately 70 beds. Our goal is to provide a serene and safe atmosphere conducive to focused studies and enhanced opportunities for teamwork and close friendships.

Charlotte Court has won 5 prestigious Eastern Regional Tourism awards (2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2024). Most notably, we were adjudged the **NATIONAL BEST HOSTEL in 2017** and a National Runner-Up in 2024.

🏠 Apartment Structure & Capacity

We currently provide **42 spacious one-bedroom self-contained apartments**. Each apartment is designed for comfort and focus, accommodating a maximum of **two students**.

Layout per Apartment:

  • One spacious bedroom
  • Kitchenette (for storage and heating, *see critical rule below*)
  • Private Toilet and Bath
  • A front porch area

🔑 Room Allocation Policy

  • Eligibility: Rooms are restricted to admitted and registered students at Ashesi University.
  • Roommates: Residents have the opportunity to choose their own roommates.
  • Duration & Payment: Allocation is by semester, and rooms are secured upon receipt of full payment or an agreed-upon payment plan in advance.

  • ✔️ Wireless internet access

Shared General Amenities

  • 🍽️ General Kitchens: Two spacious kitchens equipped with gas cookers, a deep freezer, a double-door refrigerator, and a microwave.
  • 📺 TV & Waiting Room: A general TV room equipped with DSTV, also suitable for receiving visitors.
  • 🎱 Games Room: Equipped with a Table Tennis Set and a Pool's Table for leisure.
  • ☕ Cafeteria: On-site cafeteria where residents can buy food.

🚨 CRITICAL COOKING RULE 🚨

For the safety and security of the Hostel and all Residents, **COOKING IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN** in the apartment kitchenettes.

  • NO COOKING STOVES or COOKING APPLIANCES are allowed in the apartment.
  • Residents **MUST** do their cooking in the designated **General Kitchens**.
  • Students are permitted to keep **MICROWAVE OVENS** in their apartment kitchenette strictly for heating up food.

Strict adherence to this mandatory safety regulation is required for continued residency.
